Back Pain

Back pain will affect upwards of 80% of people worldwide. Regardless of if you are trying to sleep, exercise, or just get through your work day, back pain can impact your ability to focus and perform tasks thoroughly. Many people feel the need to "push through" the pain which leads to chronic issues that compound on themselves.

Chiropractors are specifically trained to identify the root causes of back pain in order to provide lasting solutions and break the routine of "pushing through."

Back pain can be caused by daily routines of compounded stress or by accident/injury.

Common Causes of Back Pain

Subluxations:

A complex word with a simple meaning and a direct solution. Subluxation refers to a misalignment of the joints

Disc Herniation or Bulge:

Between each level of the spine, there is a soft disc that provides separation. In the case of injury to these structures, the disc can begin pressing into and irritating the nearby nerves, causing pain, numbness, or decreased strength in the limbs. Non-invasive chiropractic care for disc injuries can allow those discs to attain the nutrients needed to facilitate the healing process.

Sprain/Strain Injuries:

Repetitive lifting and abnormal or sudden movements can strain the ligaments of the spine as well as the muscles in the back. This can occur more frequently in people who are less active as the musculature is not appropriately trained to support the spine and movement.

Spinal Stenosis:

Narrowing of the spinal canal that houses the spinal cord can create pressure onto the nervous system. This inhibits the nerves' ability to communicate properly between the brain and body. While stenosis can occur anywhere in the spine, it is most common in the lower back.

Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD):

A form of osteoarthritis, caused by increased and abnormal stress over extended periods of time leads to damaged tissues between the vertebrae. Chiropractic helps to relieve the pain and inflammation caused by the dysfunction while supporting prolonged disc and spinal health.
